Brian Burke, President and CEO, is a seasoned business owner and entrepreneur with 43 years of experience. He founded Links Technology Solutions with his son, Jim, and son-in-law, Bob, in 1999. Prior to starting Links, Brian began his career at 3M Company in 1968 where he held a variety of sales and management positions. He left 3M in 1978 to strike out on his own, and founded Woodfield Business Products, a full line office products company. He later expanded the business and joined with Xerox Corp. to form what would ultimately become the largest Xerox sales agency in the country.
Brian is very active in the local business community. He was founding Chairman of the Board of the Schaumburg Business Association, was Chairman of the Northwest Suburban Association of Commerce and Industry, and President of the Schaumburg Rotary Club. He serves on the executive committee and Board of the Alexian Brothers foundation, and the Children's Advocacy Center. In addition, he serves on the Village of Schaumburg Business Development Commission, and the Schaumburg Park District joint advisory committee. Brian was elected to Medinah’s Board of Directors in 2013. He now heads up the Heritage committee that includes Medinah’s two web sites, along with both the Clubhouse and Building committees
In his free time, Brian enjoys attending Chicago sporting events, travel with Donna, his wife of 48 years, spending time with his family and five grandchildren, and playing golf.

Jim wears many hats at Links. In addition to major account sales, he is also responsible for Links' facilities and equipment, including Links' state of the art network and data center. A former U.S. Marine Security Guard, Jim maintains a Top Secret Security Clearance, and as Links Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a Top Secret Security Clearance for Links facilities and selected employees and consultants. He began his information technology career in 1994, prior to the explosive growth of the internet, and as a result, has a deep understanding of both a customer's IT staffing needs and the recruitment process. Jim is very active in the local business community. Jim is currently a vice-chairman on the executive committee of the Schaumburg Business Association, serves on the Campanelli YMCA board of directors and is a commissioner on the Village of Schaumburg plan commission. In his free time, Jim plays basketball and golf, and is devoted to his family. He is also head coach of his son's travel baseball team.

Bob VanValkenburg, Vice President of Sales, has 17+ years of extensive sales experience, including the past 15 years in the Technology field. Prior to joining Links, Bob was a Sales Manager for Stadtech Inc., a private technology firm and worked with such blue-chip clients as Abbott Laboratories and Caremark/CVS Corporation. Bob began his career working for Xerox, where he benefited from one of the nation's strongest sales training programs. Bob currently heads up the Web Site Design and Application Development divisions at Links, and had responsibility for the development and marketing of TariffShark, Links' highly successful custom software product.
Bob is a graduate of Ithaca College in New York, where he played baseball and football. Bob was a member of the 1988 Division III World Series Champion Ithaca Bombers baseball squad. He actively participates in numerous committees and is both a head coach and also President of the Roselle Rampage softball league. In his free time, Bob enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.

She partnered with clients to facilitate Business Process Improvement Reviews involving BPI training, re-design and process change implementation. Previous employment included the administration of the newly-formed IDOT Center of Excellence to bring BPI methodologies to the State of Illinois. Joane also worked with an environmental and food safety consulting firm to perform FSSC 22000, BRC, SQF, and IFS audit preparation consulting, including Process mapping, Internal Audit standards, HACCP plans and documentation to meet the latest GFSI requirements and also assisted with Gap Analysis reviews for OSHA standards and for security.

Tim manages the Eastern Region for Links and oversees Managed Services and contractual fulfillments for IT clients. With 25 years of experience in the Network and IT fields, Tim's expertise draws from his work with industry leaders such as Sprint, NCR, Unisys and Lucent, and he has led engagements throughout the US, Canada, Europe, South America and Southeast Asia.
In a consultancy role, his work in network operations, software and hardware development, data warehousing and market forecasting allowed him to establish reselling and partnership arrangements with companies like Brio, Redbrick, Oracle and Informix. His efforts to identify churn risks, increase market penetration and maximize customer return on investment led to the adoption of decision-support applications by GTE, Bell Atlantic, Pacific Bell, British Columbia Telecom and Unitel. Prior to joining Links, he consulted with Bank of America to develop, test and launch their Real Estate Banking Portal.
Tim is a graduate of Purdue University, where he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering. He also holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Missouri. He currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina, near the renowned Research Triangle Park. He lives with his wife and three children and enjoys fly-fishing and cheering on his beloved Cubs, Bears and Boilermakers. When he's not helping with math homework, Tim indulges his keen interest in United States history by reading favorite authors Doris Kearns Goodwin, David McCullough and Stephen E. Ambrose, among others.

Tom manages the Western Region for Links and is responsible for all of our IT staffing clients and consultants in the Western US. He is a 10-year Links veteran who began his career with us managing client projects. A former US Army Captain, Tom began his IT career in 1994 managing troop deployments with DoD computer systems. He then became a project / program manager during the dot-com boom and obtained a wealth of IT experience in multiple industries before joining Links in 2001. His exuberant talent to drive and staff projects quickly led him to our management ranks.
Tom lives in San Francisco and manages our Silicon Valley offices where the beautiful weather allows him to be an avid runner, soccer player, and has encouraged him to pick up Links' favorite past time, golf.
