Responsibilities of this position include: Driving the development of new features to make the iScribe application more efficient and valuable for physicians and their patients. Working to enhance the reliability and scalability of our infrastructure to support an order of magnitude increase in users and transactions over the next several years. Leading efforts to integrate our ePrescribing functionality into other electronic medical systems, both inside and outside of CVS Caremark.
Qualifications: SQL Server database design and administration experience. Development and Maintenance of DTS packages. Data Modeling experience. Exposure to WebSphere Application server desirable. PERL experience is a plus. Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment.

Position Summary
The Technical Advisor is astute in all critical functions for the application(s) assigned, and is expected to champion SDLC methods and best practices on the team to ensure quality standards are met. Key responsibilities include working on the initial impact assessment, defining high-level functional design and review these and the technical designs with the business and creating capacity estimates (people and systems). Additionally, will work to develop and implement technical solutions, incorporating peripheral knowledge of other internal applications and related technologies.
Duties
Partner with teams and serve as subject matter expert to provide benchmarked solutions to multiple, complex technical projects/initiatives within own area of expertise. Keep abreast of technological trends in the industry and determine if useful and/or feasible (ie financial impact) and make recommendations to the organization. Establish and ensure adherence to technical direction, standards, guidelines and methodology for use of specified technologies in own discipline. Plan and manage integration of new technology and monitor transition from current to new. Solve highly techical and complex problems for mulitiple projects or teams. As recognized expert, seek out opportunities to transfer knowledge through conseling and consultation within and outside of the organization implementation. Share expertise within or outside organizaiton, educating through formal and informal means. Educate technical lead on specific technologies. Develop and improve strategic technical direction for functional areas.
Experience
Minimum of 9+ years of application development with an experience in leading technical aspects of a project. Experience managing customer requirements or demands - including project plans and customer meetings. Excellent technical, problem solving, and communications skills. Experience providing effective solutions based on subject matter expertise. Demonstrated successful completion of large scale projects with proficiency working with cross-functional and matrixed environments. Solid knowledge of and experience with problem determination and resolution through research and fact-finding. Clear and concise communication and presentation skills are required to facilitate meetings with both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional departments.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar is preferred. If no degree, then one additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained. High School Diploma or GED is a required.
